The Judgement Day

The other day, while trying to experience heaven which I do often, I thought about the grande concept of heaven and it has since made life simpler for me. I know most of you only think of yourselves but I've mostly been preoccupied with how heaven and Hell are going to be.

Per the imagery that has been etched into my mind from every topic that has attempted to discuss or address the heaven and Hell issue, I have come to perceive the idea in vivid terms. I like to think of a day that will begin calmly with some of us waking up to takeovers and other unusual news that have become so commonplace, people queued up at their usual bus stops waiting for their rickety buses, the koko and waakye seller near the mosque, all going about brisk business as usual and school children scurrying to school until we are awashed with a tempestuous revolt and chaos everywhere. People would be scrambling for everything and nothing, everyone is running helter-skelter in all directions, bumping and crashing into each other. Rage and cries of desperation laced with fear and despair everywhere. Every dead person is coming back to life, all of them facing the east with an air of indifference and loss rather than being happy for coming back to life.

There would be a select few airborne, raptured up by the holy spirit into the skies until they finally arrive at the white pearly gates of heaven, while the bad ones who were left behind waits for hell to come to them. On that day, it would be a black and white affair, no gray areas, just up or down, table or chair, man or woman, here or there. Every hue would be eroded, there won't be any in-between and its attendant nuances. Sometimes, I find it hard to arrange the sequence of events but it's relieving to know that everything would happen within 24hrs as the name depicts.

Somewhere in the list of the eventful program would be a time where all of us would gather in a very big auditorium for the film session, where everyone would know their fate - the filifili session, where people would surprise themselves with some of the playback of God's CCTV. Sometimes, I like to think that we would all gather and watch each other's film and know who we really were - to each other or we may be called one after the other into the movie room a la Big Brother. But would these happen before the rapture or would it just follow after the trumpet has been sounded?

Then again, I think of Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel and the early men and women who died some two years ago, being judged on the great judgment day with some of us, the latter day saints. There would be people asking to be carried shoulder high so they can see above what their heights can allow just so they can have a glimpse of folks who have altered the course of history. There would be infants and children who have to be judged somehow even though they didn't get the chance to grow up like me or other older people. There would be powerful surround speakers that would boom in the auditorium echoing out names like John Mahama, Adolf Hitler, Amakye Dede, Yayra Kpodo, Jacob Zuma and every other person that would be gathered there. Folks would be on the alert to hear names of people they don't wish well or have been curious about. Exes would have a field day, wanting to watch the video to see every treachery and felony their spouses have committed and others would have scores to settle even on that day. People might even ruin their one chance at making it to heaven…

What if going to Hell would actually make some people happy and fulfilled only because they actually worked for it? Would the arisen be in their tatters or they would be awashed with white cassocks?

And all of these...

Dear Reader, let me tell you about all the fuss of judgment day and how it would happen. The truth is Judgment happens every day, except, it is not your turn yet. I feel heaven and hell every time or maybe a simulation of the concept and the latter may be true. Have you withheld urine you should let go of due to some circumstances only to pass it later at your wits end? Yes, that's heavenly, not heaven. Lol. I hear people talk about cloud nine and that's heavenly too as people would make us believe. Have you had an expectation met, that's heavenly too, whereas hell is, never mind.

Judgment day is already existent but it only happens to people when they die. You don’t expect all of us to come along when all of us were not born on the same day. You go with a team; probably, everyone who died on that day just like everyone who was born on your day of entry into the world. It's us who die and leave the world behind. THE WORLD WOULD NEVER END, it is our world that will end and thereafter, judgment, which is in order since we are all subject to accountability. We all account to someone here in our daily lives or sometimes, monthly so you don’t expect to just come around, live your life and go scot free without any scrutiny and its eventual sanction thereof.

Deep. The mention of how we live a simulation of hell and heaven everyday is something to think about.
